I have a small flock -only 6 birds- but wanted to give them as much space to roam safely as possible... we have not had luck getting vegetables in the raised garden beds we created a decade ago because there's not enough sun & the trees overhead (from the neighbor's property) constantly drops seed pods, which choke out the veggies we've tried...sooo... we've repurposed the beds & made them into chunnels...about 145 square feet of "run". The shade wasn't good for the garden but is good for the chicks, since days are often in the high 90's here... and the seedlings from the tree provide both entertainment & snacks.
