Cinder Block Coop

For me it would depend on the climate. If it was in the north I would use a wood structure because 1. cinderblock construction is hard to insulate, 2. freeze/thaw can reduce the life of a cinderblock construction if the footers are not done properly, 3. cinderblock construction needs footers.

Depending on where you live, the footings need to go below the frostline, which around here is 42" below ground. Then on top of footings you can start laying your cinder block up.

Is this a foundation for your oldstyle henhouse?.....or a different coop?

Yeah, me either.

Just asking...you never know.

Good luck with your coop builds.
