Won't the chickens just eat all the cornmeal before the ants do?

And why don't the chicken eat the ants! My girls love an ant!

Some ants taste good and some don't. Black ants are supposedly bitter. I know the ants that get into my hummingbird feeder must be very sweet.

I put the cornmeal on and around the ants last night and today there were less ants. I'm crossing my fingers that it works! Thanks so much for the cornmeal and other suggestions!

Oh, and I don't know why my chickens won't eat the ants! I figured it would a great snack for them.

I use D.E. with 100% results in killing the ants. Just a fine line where ever they roam or on the ant hill but remember to redo if you apply it outside and it rains.

When I find new feed store in my area, I plan to ask about it to check prices and see who has the best price. Ask your feed store and see if they look at you crazy or have a bag to check the price.
