I just want to put this out there, that if you live in New Mexico, outside of the city limits, and then that is annexed into the city, and the counsel tries to make you get rid of your chickens, you are able to fight back! The one thing that is not heard is that if you have owned chickens BEFORE your land is annexed, they have no right to make you get rid of your chickens, they will push and push, making you think that you HAVE to get rid of them. But if you fight it, you will (unless some fluke thing happens) win! So if this happens to you (it has not happened to me, but I have heard it happen to other people multiple times now), don't just give in, FIGHT BACK!!
