We got chickens around two years ago after visiting someone who had chooks parading around the yard. Never owned chooks before, but had a massive egg consumption with three teenagers and my eggs benny addiction.. We started with three hens - an Australorp, an Isa Brown and a Plymouth Rock. The latter died very suddenly, and we got a rescue hybrid. The most recent addition is a strutting Leghorn. Obviously the eggs are divine, but I enjoy having a cuppa and a chat with the 'ladies' in the yard. Never knew they were so social! My husband is a school guidance officer and I study social science. We have 3 children who are all at uni now, a Labrador and a Westie plus 3 cats. The youngest cat is a fierce self-appointed security guard of the chicken coop. She loves them, and they love her! I first found BYC when we first got the chooks and I needed some practical information. You're my go-to-guys with all things poultry. I have already posted my first thread...
Cheers, Anna

Hi Anna! Welcome to BYC! Very nice intro, I also enjoy setting outside with my girls in the yard when the weather permits! So relaxing.
