Again depends on the State, alot of States they can , without search warrant.....if they have reason to think a animal is being mistreated.

A generic online "law" encyclopedia doesn't mean anything when it overlooks specific statutes

I just said it was worth reading but at least I was not quoting wikipedia.

As far as the federal government, game wardens do not have powers above the federal search an seizure laws. States can an do make laws all the time that go outside there bounds but federal judges always get the last say.

I'm pretty sure you cant be charged with any crime in any state for asking for a warrant even if they might not need one. By asking for one you cover your butt.

Point is here in Ohio a game warden can and do go on private land, Check anyone fishing and hunting, matter of fact they can come on your land ,and charge you with killing wildlife out of season, yes without a search warrant.....animal control can enter your home, if they think an animal is in there ,without food and water......without search warrant.

They have the ability to do so (here in Mich) but they rarely do because folks up here are ornary about folks tresspassing, and a human walking around with a gun on his hip wearing cammies (when we know there ain't supposed to be no 2 legs) is likely to be shot and killed before he gets a chance to say "wait, DNR, don't SHOOT!"

I will give it to the game warrant, thery have a risky job, more than police. Just about every person they check, is armed. So many don't know the right they have, and may shoot them for tresspassing. Game warrant may be right , but dead right. Here most of the time, they will waiting by the road ,at your car or truck.

Myself I have permit to raise wildlife, and know the game laws here. Yes they can come on my land anytime and check my pens.
