I am thinking of doing this from dismantled pallets. Have you done this? What is the overlap measurement? Anything special I need to know? What did you attach it with?

Overlap depends on the size of the boards! I would just make sure it covers up the nails. It is time consuming but looks really good.
Thanks. Looks good. I have plenty of time and liked the look. Also, if had more time than money to spend for this. I tried dismantling the pallets several ways. Was using the sawzall last. Then I remembered an old wide antique hoe I had. It is kinda like a large mattock. I put it under the center and raised the middle and then the outside pops right off with rare damage. You can do it as fast as you can go.

I made a tool from 6" of 1x1 angle iron welded to a railroad spike. It distributes the force from my hammer and keeps them from becoming splinters.
