My rescue turkey is feeling better. He was gobbling up a storm this morning and actually standing up with out looking like he was in pain. His head even started to color up. This is the first time he's actually made any noise at all.

I'll get some new pics uploaded sooner or later. His betrothed, a royal palm hen, met him yesterday. He's seen her before but got to interact a bit for a few hours. He's still not ready to stay on his feet in the mud outside yet.

The hen's name is Claudia. She is a complete hoot. These are my first turkeys and don't really know what to expect but Claudia has some unusual behavior. She is bearded too.

When I carried Clark outside yesterday Claudia came right over to check him out. All she did was coo at him and STRUT! I did not know hens did that. She circled him for hours fully flared out like a gobbler. Clark has never been around a female so he didn't seem to know what to do. A few times he did try to strut and did gobble a little but his feathers are in such poor condition it is hard to tell he is displaying. He let his snood out and his head did go red, white and blue now and then.

He did not want to stay outside so I put him back on his hay bed in the basement last night. He's down there gobbling now.
