My theme song in college, according to one of my girlfriends was "Satisfaction".

I'm in my teens too! I listen to other stuff too, but generally just classic rock. A few weeks ago my mom and I had the pleasure, and somewhat weird, experience of going to a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers concert. Joe Cocker opened. It was awesome! Everyone was drunk, among other things. My mom and I enjoyed Tom Petty, but NOT the wild people there. (The Gorge Amphitheater in WA)

The superbowl? That was a horrible and shameful performance. Just goes to show you that some folks just don't know when to give up and retire.

This made me laugh! I went to see sweaty Teddy a few years back. It just so happens that Deep Purple was opening for him. OMG! Talk about geriatrics! I was surprised they didn't use walkers to get on stage! Their music suffered too. But let me tell you, Ted Nugent still has what it takes! What a rocker!

TED NUGENT RULES!!!

Tell, people who live outside of Michigan, do the classic rock stations by you play "Fred Bear" 50 times a day during hunting season like they do here in northern Michigan?

I must admit, stranglehold is on every CD i burn for driving. The Nuge will never slow down, and I suppose that's why his music has never suffered... plus all that hunting/fishing/clean air and listening to the call of the wild will do for ya

I am not even sure I know Fred Bear, then again, I am a transplant to MI. DH IS an authentic Michigander and he doesn't recognize the title either. We've lived in northern MI for 10 years now and can't say we've heard it on the radio ever. Of course, he's out hunting every day and I on occasion so there isn't a lot of opportunity to hear it.

They play it on the radio 50 times a day in November!!!

Along with "T'irty Point Buck" and "First Two Weeks at Deer Camp"

FRED BEAR--First verse and chorus

"There I was back in the wild again
And I felt right at home, where I belong
And I had that feeling coming over me again
Just like I had so many times before

The spirit of the woods is like an old good friend
Makes me feel warm and good inside
I knew his name, it was good to see him again
'Cause in the wind he's still alive

Oh, Fred Bear, walk with me down these trails again
Take me back where I belong
Oh, Fred Bear, I'm glad to have you at my side, my friend
And I'll join you in the big hunt before too long ... before too long."

It's on the "Call of the Wild Album" which came out in the early 1990s, so it's not classic Nugent. Call the radio station and request it, trust me, it'll be on their play list. I have it on cassette tape and it's part of my "pysch" music when I go on endurance rides. That's an experience, trotting down trails in the national forests of Michigan, just you and your horse. Heck, I was able to write those lyrics from memory, without even consulting the little sleeve with the cassette

Boyd, do you have an iTunes link you could post?

Hey guys!!

I love classic rock, discovered it in my teens as my mama raised me on country. Zeppelin is my all time fave, hence my name "ZepChick". Boyd, I have seen the Stones twice in the last ten years and I was impressed, but I didn't see them in their younger years.

Classic rock has been kind of a soundtrack to my life...like when I hear certain songs playing, I am instantly transported back to a memory I have where the song was playing in the background. My best girlfriend and I will be doing something and here a song, look at each other and say "oh yeah, this is on the soundtrack of our life". Going to concerts with the windows down, singing at the top of our lungs, chasing a member of Bad Company through an airport in Italy, holding my baby girl in my arms while singing the Doors to her...the list goes on. Classic rock inspired me to play the guitar and I love it. My daughter is 15 and she has grown up with it, I have forced her to love it. Now I have a 1 year old boy, who certainly will grow up with it as well. Cool thread MikasGirl!!! (who just happens to be my 15 year old)
