After hatching a couple times, I think I am ready to bring the incubator to class for the kids to experience the incubation and hatch process. I work in a Title I urban school, and these kids don't get to see this kind of stuff, ever. I am confident that it will be an eye-opening experience. Any teacher out there, or individuals have any advice before I truck it all down to the school? Because its almost close to summer break, I was thinking of doing quail. I have coturnix, but was interested in trying bobwhites. Any body know of a bobwhite breeder in south florida that offers fertilized egg a decent price for classroom hatches? Thanks.

Oh, I do have the auto turner, so turning on the weekend shouldn't be an issue.

We set my DD's 2nd grade class up with our bator, turner and fertile eggs in March. Then supplied them with brooder, light, feeder, waterer, shavings and feed for the chicks. The students all got to put their name on the eggs and have a personal interest in watching the hatch. I would go in and candle with them. I opened up the quitter eggs to show them inside.

We live in a rural area...no matter where you are in the world, kids will LOVE the opportunity to see hatching eggs for themselves!

Go for it! They will remember the experience for a long time!
