Clean duck nest,..eggs not poop!

I have always wanted to know this!!
My female duck is over 2yrs old and have NEVER pooped in her nest. She is currently sitting on u fertilized eggs and have for 2mths and has done this off and on over the years and she has never pooped in her nest. She eats and goes in her pool several times a day and usually within a minute of letting her out she poops and after eating but never in her box(nest) inside.
Does anyone else have this happen

Normal behavior on the part of good broody females. Hens that defecate in the nest ruin eggs - perhaps such behavior has been biologically selected against as their genes don't get to carry on.
