Clean Hatching eggs?

No keep plent of hay or shavings in the nestbox and change it often and your eggs will mostly be clean but just flick off mud or poo as washing may contaminate the embrio inside.

You should pick clean eggs if they are yours if you get dirty eggs you can wash/dip them using Tec-Trol follow the label directions. I wash all my eggs or dip them really in Tec-Trol and I have none of that stink when they hatch and it seems to improve my hatch rate at least I don't have weak chicks at the end and mostly my hatch rate is good with shipped eggs. I've had 2 batches that weren't good and that was from shipping. I know many people don't believe in washing but the hatchery's fumigate the eggs before they start......
 
I wipe my eggs with a damp cloth not wet and chip off dung if present first I have not had any trouble with that
