Cleaning a run

Hmm now im curious. Sorry to hi-jack just a question. If you use pine shavings in the coop and also have poop boards, would you dump the pine shavings you clean out of the coop ( which is done a few times a year), into the run?
I do that, but carefully so as not to overwhelm the wood chips with the poop filled pine shavings(and a lot of 'dust' which is mostly pulverized poop). I bag all the coop shavings then add to run a bag or two at time.

Sorry for the somewhat off-topic aside... but even though I've seen this picture before, I JUST noticed that your dense hardware cloth doesn't go all the way up, and the rest of the fence actually looks to have very big openings between the wires... Has that been enough to stop predators? Do you get smaller animals squeezing through? Weasels and such... Fishers... whatever else is out there. I guess I've been hammered over the head about the 1/2" (or at least 1") hardware cloth on this forum so much that now I'm quite surprised to see this on the jedi's run fence :D
My run was never meant to be totally predator proof, just for hawks. I'm home and in sight and hearing of run 90% of the time. Have seen several canines(fox, coyote, dogs) bounce off of it. The HC is to keep chicks and deepish litter inside the run.
