Cleaning agents in the coop? What do you use?

I use time.....and air!

No smells in my coop as I have lots of ventilation and my girls don't spend a lot of time in there. I've had to clean it out once this year by using a fine rake....barely got a bucket of dry, dusty manure to put on the compost pile. I don't use bedding of any kind in the spring and summer.

I have two windows in the coop that are open all the time (unless the temp drops below 40 at night). I also have their "chicken door" open which allows them access to the chicken run. They are out in the run each day by 7am and we close it up around 8 or 9pm each night. I also leave the "people door" open on days when the temps are over 70.

I wish the run was bigger, because they are used to free ranging. But I had to pen them when they were destroying all of my gardens. I love gardening and was tired of them destroying perennials that I've had for years.

I think the run is a good compromise.
