Did I hurt my chick, I was using warm water, and thought it was kinda being difficult to come off, and I realized it was really attached to her. Did I just hurt my 6 day old chick?

So I think she is ok-I didn't remove it, but she was cheeping for about 5 minutes. She seems happy now, I have never seen something like this cord, it's a little large, it's not bleeding. Hopefully it will come off soon.

Thanks guys, great to know that you are always watching....

No, thank goodness-she was 4 days old when she arrived. On the ones we hatch, they fall away within a day. This was a black mass, looking like poo, stuck to her skin.

I thought the dark spot was poo stuck to her body. This was a chick we received 4 days after birth, she was shipped a long way, and after food and water, she had this spot. Normally, warm water would remove the dried poo, but I realized, that it wasnt' She seemed a little mad, for about 5 minutes. She appears good, all day, quiet and playing with the other chicks, I guess it has to dry up more.
