Hello! I'm new to all this, but I have a question. My run is 7' high, and the bottom half of the back wall is a 3' retaining wall. I understand that clematis is toxic for chickies. Any thoughts on if it'd be crazy to plant clematis above the retaining wall (so the lowest part of the plant would be at least 3' above the floor of the run), and train it up the top half of the wall? The run has 1/2" hardware cloth over all walls and roof. There are no roosts on that side of the run, either. Thanks!

I believe that chickens will not eat bad things, if they have plenty of choices in what to eat. I have clematis growing right in the yard where they spend the day foraging. I have never noticed them eating it. They have plenty of grass, weeds, and other delights from which to choose.
