I have 2 new ducklings, i noticed one makes a faint clicking sound- not sure if they got too cool, i am holding them under my chin under a blanket to warm them- any ideas?

Hi Robin, how old are they? At what temp are you brooding them? I'm brooding mine pretty much like I do my chicks, with plenty of room for them to move away from the heat.

The clicking sound - is with breathing or mouth noises?

yes, like i do the chicks, they are in the tub with the light on them, they moved away from the light- this morning when i checked on them their feet were cold, i had water in a bowl till i read not to do that as they get chilled, so now its in a jug with a hole for them to get water

what do they like to chew on

thanks! right now they are asleep in my lap under a blanket... will find them a stuffed toy, have done that with my chicks, what about litter- i have read some say not to use it, others say its ok....

My ducklings clicked their bills - and they love to chew, especially the edges of terrycloth or other fabric. I try to make sure there are no strings they can swallow.

Mine eat shavings so they are on towels till they are a little older.
