I have one hen in particular that has very long toenails and she does freerange. Maybe she's just a lazy scratcher, LOL.

That must be it, an ex showie who is used to being caged, i bought her as a stud female, as in broodmare in silky speak!!
She must be just a lazy scratcher, perhaps she never got to scratch but thinks she just has to sit there and look gorgeous.!!!
