Clipping Muscovy Claws

i say just leave 'em the way they are
it's not like clipping wings where there is actually a purpose
no need to put the duck through stress just for cosmetic purposes

And THAT's what I was thinking. I'll clip them if they seem to cause mine any trouble or hamper him in any way... but he seems fine so I'll leave him alone.

I was clipping my drake's so that he didn't accidentally cut open any of his girls when he was breeding them. A couple weeks ago i noticed some blood on my white girl but it was before i realized Sid's claws were so long. After i realized how overgrown they were & knowing that the white hen is one of "his" girls (follows him everywhere), i am pretty sure that's what happened.

Sid also walks mostly on soft ground all day since he stays very close to the coop anymore, all the other boys have much shorter nails and they 'travel' all over the place.
