Clipping wings

If you clip one, they can't fly straight. This might cause them to fly into things and injure themselves. If you clip both, they won't be able to fly far. I've never clipped my quail's wings. Some don't fly well even without clipping, but I've seen some fly all the way over a house never to be seen again.

They are in an aviary that is about 5 and a half feet tall. They insist on flying straight out the hutch when I open the door in the morning. The hutch is on the ground and they fly straight up and into the walls. They sometimes ping pong, smashing into things just worried they will actually injure themselves doing this. They also fly around randomly during the day to smashing into the walls. I can walk in there and all they do is walk around. So Idk if this is them just stretching their wings.
