So my Cx are 6 weeks old, and have decided to start escaping the coop, I do not have a run off their coop, as DH didn't want to build one to use only 2-3 weeks a year. I have a waist high barrier which allows them sunlight and fresh air during the day, I close the door at night. Over the past few days they have become rather determined to escape, and I've been finding them in the yard. I've started taking the tips of wing feathers off as I put them back, hoping it will keep them from escaping again. they still have lots of room in the coop to flap and jump around, I have a dog that will try to herd them, and I don't want them getting lost, as he's not very good at it, he does a better job of scaring the chickens then herding them.
