Hi new friends!

Sorry, if I missed a thread similar to this but I am hoping someone has some quick advice on this:

An 18 week old Barred Rock just laid her first egg, she had a hard time an I noticed she was flexing her rear end for 2 days before laying. 24 hours later she is very lethargic, not eating and her cloaca is still roughly open by a 1/2 inch.

Any recommendations?

Much Appreciation!

Is she awake enough to eat and drink? I would give her some human calcium 1/2 tablet or Tums orally or in a small amount of food. Is she getting layer feed and offered crushed oyster shell? Can you insert a clean finger into her vent to feel for another egg that might be hard or soft shell and stuck? If it has been especially hot, offer water and perhaps some electrolytes or Gatorade.
