I got her from a BYC member. Her one nostril is enlarged in comparison to her other nostril and it looks clogged. I tried picking at it to see if it is dirt, but she is very sensitive about it and doesnt like me touching it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to treat her?.

here is a link for treating swollen sinuses and eyes..
apply the directions for the sinuses..
and treat the bird with injectible Tylan 50..

Thanks for the link, but there is no way I can flush the nostril because it is so hard. Maybe rubbing some VetRx will help?

pardon my asking, but your chicken wouldnt happen to have black feathers? if so check for fowl smelling yellow nasal discharge. do what sammi said, it will help more than you may think.

if the drainage has hardened on the nostril, maybe a warm wet cloth might soften it..

No, she is a splash silkie. The only problem she has is lice, and we are treating her for that. She eats, walks, and drinks well.

My Jersey has 2 nostrils like that. She fights me if I try to pick it out, so I use a qtip and dab it at night, and the next day work on it a little. I don't know why that happens. My other 35 chickens never had that problem.
