Close to laying? Maybe?

Probably quite soon. Is she squatting or checking out the nesting boxes at all? I had to wait until 23 weeks for my first egg

I tested her for her squatting today and she's 100% squatting. Her pelvic bones are still quite close though. So we will see what that means

Squatting can be sexual or just submissive.
Pelvic bone spread is definitely a precursor to laying,
but even with that it can be up to a couple few weeks before eggs appear.

I'd say she's really close. My hen started squatting 3 days before she laid her first egg.

Thank you! I hope so! Shes a little on the younger side so I will not expect it but be cautiously optimistic and hopefully pleasantly surprised

Incase anyone wants an update, she laid her first egg Friday. So about 10 days after I started noticing her comb go red and 2 days ish after I noticed her pelvic bones going from barely 1 finger apart to 2.5 fingers apart.
