Close to laying?

Agreed. They are close. Just give them a few more weeks. I've had Rhode Island Reds lay as early as twenty weeks, but most hens on average take about twenty-four weeks. And some breeds can push that by another four to eight weeks.

I have 4 Brahmas. One is laying for certain, one is "most likely" --I can't catch her in the laying box. The two others are still holding out...lol. They are about 6 1/2 months old now.

Just for a little update: the naked neck is still giving me an egg about every other day, although I’m a little confused now. I looked up a picture of a faverolle egg and it looked it looked exactly like an egg I had gotten that morning. I was so excited and then the next day I walked outside and Moe, the naked neck, hopped out of the nest box, and what do I find but the “faverolle” egg. Does anybody have a picture of what the respective eggs should look like?
