closed eyes

I have been treating my hen for cocci with corid for 5 days now her general health seems to be good eating drinking and poop appears normal. My concern now is that both eyes have been closed most of the time . I don't see any redness, swelling or anything wrong that I am aware of but being a newbie I haven't spent much time looking at chicken eyes. When they are closed the look like a film is over them. She is in a cage in my basement but today I thought she might like some fresh air so I took her out for about 10 to 15 minutes she was looking for bugs and eating grass with open eyes seemed normal then huddled down and closed her eyes. and didn't open them She is also scratching them Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried holding a warm compress to her eyes or gently rinsing them with a saline solution? If it's just one hen, it might be a combination of trying to recover from a disease (resting a lot) and an environmental irritant. Best of luck.

Thanks for you suggestion I did try the compresses but she was so resistant I was afraid I would break her neck
