I think BYC is the wrong place for you to do your research. People on BYC are more likely to be highly educated about eggs, and that will skew your results. You'd probably do better on FaceBook or someplace similar.

If you want my answer, I'd say that shell color is irrelevant when determining nutritional content, and that nutritional content is determined by the hen's diet.

Shell color doesn't matter but I hypothesize that if you asked 50 random people who were walking into a grocery store, 85% would say brown.
I used to be one of them until I went to school for animal science hehe

Yeah, it's a safe bet that everyone one here knows that eggshell color has nothing to with nutritional value, but before you got into raising chickens, what did you think? I always thought that brown eggs were healthier because the cartons would be labeled "organic" and "natural". And SummerTimeFarm, depending on how old the kids you yeah are, maybe ask them their opinions on which egg color is healthier.

I don't know what your graph is going to look like, but I think it would be fun to hit up shoppers at Walmart at random and ask them, ask a group at Whole Foods or an "organic" place and see what answers you get, too bad Farmer's Markets are probably not open where you are. That might give you some interesting curves on that graph.

Good luck with it. I hope we are not frustrating you too much.

Hee I say blue or green ones. ( they are prettier). I have 50+ chickens I know the truth but I have people who buy my eggs and will only buy brown ones she says they are healthier and since she is much older I just make sure she gets her eggs the way she wants them lol

That's why I'm thinking this isn't a good place to ask too. For a truly honest answer, it would be better to hit up some place where people don't know any better. Walmart was a good suggestion. We're not quite able to give honest answers here, because we all know the real truth. So we're kinda lying about which color we REALLY think is better. And that is going to seriously skew your results.

So if we're being honest, I'm going back to my 'none' answer. None of them are better than the others.

I think the color of the shell has nothing to do with nutrition.

Thank you for some of your suggestions. I guess I should close this since its obviously useless.

Why is it useless?...tho I guess you've deleted the original question so I am not sure what it was.
Sounds like you were asking what color egg is most nutritious?

You may not have gotten the data you were looking for but any data is good data...with asking here you've just added another dimension to your experiment.
