Closing coop house door.

I leave my pop doors open 24/7/365. You are correct that they would have to get into the pens to get into the coops but I also have electric wires around my coops and pens and they have to get by the hot wires first.

I leave mine open so far. I've only had my flock for 3 months though. We have a large coop and fairly secure run. Cats and dogs are the only predators around (unless a bear wanders down from the mountains, but we've never seen one in our yard). No racoons or possums to worry about.

The only way I'd leave my coop door open is if my run was as secure as my coop.Where I'm from we have at least 20 predators to worry about. It defeats the purpose to build a secure coop and leave the door open into a run thats not as secure.
