Closing dog crate at night

I have a dog crate inside the run that I separated with a dog playpen. I reinforced the dog crate door and air vents with hardware cloth wire and reinforced the dog corral with netting. Henny Penny hatched her 5 eggs inside the dog crate. She continues to go back inside the crate every night with her chicks. I close the door every night and open it in the morning. I had a Rat problem when I used to leave food out. Before chicks were born. Since I put all food and water I haven’t seen any rats at night. My question is should I continue to close the dog crate door at night with having rat controlled.

Your system looks well protected, but just to be on the safe side I would continue closing it.
