So I'm just about wrapping up my hardware installation. I'm curious to hear how you installed yours around windows and openings.

I only used screws and washers spaced tight together. Almost seems like overkill. I'm thinking about removing quite a few and putting wood trim around the edges of the windows instead.

What's your setup like?

I used wood trim and sandwiched the hardware cloth between the wall and the trim. I fastened the trim with screws and heavy duty construction adhesive.

I did the same on my temporary quarantine coop, which has hardware cloth stretched across the top of a reson box and fastened the same way. I routinely sit on that when I administer meds to my quarantined chickens. It's sturdy enough to hold all my weight.

I did screws and washers, 3/4 heavy electrical staples then wood trim.
I didn't plan on wood trim until I though about using dog eared fence boards. Cheap treated wood that doesn't really need to be painted.
