GRK cabinet screws. They have them at both Lowes and Home Depot. Either 1" or 1.25". Put them about every 5" or so.

Probably about a half inch? You need to put them in corners where the wires meet but they go in really easy and hold well.

So I'm just about wrapping up my hardware installation. I'm curious to hear how you installed yours around windows and openings.

I only used screws and washers spaced tight together. Almost seems like overkill. I'm thinking about removing quite a few and putting wood trim around the edges of the windows instead.

What's your setup like?

We used screws and washers as well. We sandwiched the hardware cloth on our windows with the trim. On our run we installed the hardware cloth from the inside so the seams are on the run interior and not exposed on the outside.

Those would probably work well for 1/4" HWC then. I have 1" washers for 1/2" HWC.

I used screws and washers about 8” apart, and sandwiched the apron and bottom screens with boards from a pallet around the interior of the base. I figured that would get the most strain with predators, plus it made the coop feel sturdier.

Heavy duty air gun staples every six inches and also screws and washers every foot. Cloth attached on outside.

I used them for 1/2" hardware cloth. I don't trust 1/4" hardware cloth for coops - no matter how strong the fastener is - the wire is so thin that most bigger animals can rip it off the fasteners. I would only use it as an addition to sturdier wires to keep small things from getting in.
