Clotheslines - Who has one?

I have a retractable clothes line that stretches out to a permanent post. We have it on a shed and it stretches across the patio to the pool deck, which is all away from the house. We retract it when we have parties or a fire in the pit. Have had retractables at my last two homes, too. We hang everything out,but things like socks we will fluff up in the dryer for just a couple minutes to soften.

i had a clothesline. removed it. i was just thinking today, about putting one back up!! save on the dryer/electric bill.

I have a t-post that hubby made me with 3 lines on it. It has the plastic line so it can be retightened if need be. I love my clothesline, but love my dryer too. I DO NOT like crusty towels!!!

I LOVE my clothesline! One month, I did not use my dryer AT ALL. My electric bill was $60 cheaper. I did not change anything else except not using the dryer. I have read a few of you don't like to hang out your socks, underwear, etc. I found this hanger online that is great for socks. I sometimes just hang up my socks and underwear on this and hang them inside on my shower rod...

I built my T-posts 50 feet apart with 4 lines of # 9 galvanized wire. Eye-bolts on one end and turnbuckles on the other to keep the lines tightened. I used 10 foot Osage Orange Posts buried 4 feet with a solid crosspiece to attach the 4 lines.

If you dry your towels, socks, jeans or what ever on the line and just fluff them all in the dryer later for a few minutes to soften them, You are still saving money.

I have an umbrella dryer and I can hang everything on it, but we have a double bed. I am sure sheets from a larger bed wouldn't fit. Its easy to fold up and pull out of the ground to cut the grass and in the winter.
