Interesting. I guess I better keep a closer watch on my hatches, huh? Thank goodness you were there to rescue that little peep.

Ok, got some brooder pics...I know, I know, not supposed to open the bator...BUT...it was getting REALLY disgusting in there, and the humidity was dropping cuz the water was almost gone, and I was going to have to open it anyway, SO...I set up the other 1588, quickly swapped all the eggs into that one, and put all the chicks into the brooder...

Great photos. For any of you hatching addicts out there, I've got auctions going for black cochin bantam eggs, white cochin bantam eggs, and white call duck eggs.

The 5th one hatched Scott!! That is officially my FIRST 100% hatch!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!

As far as the rest goes, I ended up with...

10/11 mottled bantam cochins from shelleyb1969.....91%!! Started with 14, so 71% from the beginning.

5/5 from Scott !00% beginning to end! AND that was with a very smashed box!!!

6/6 from hcammack..100%! Started with 8, so 75% from the beginning!

8/12 b/b/s standard cochins from ebay! 66%! Started with 15 eggs, so 53% from beginning.

The speckled sussex were super disappointing! 2/4 hatched, for 50%, but one prolapsed his intestines and I had to cull him, started with 8 eggs, so 25% hatch from beginning.

NOW...in the hatcher, there are Mille Fleur d'Uccles....only 10/24 made it to lockdown...1 of the tossed eggs had a tiny little dark spot like a super early quitter, and all the rest were clear. Two sources. Here we go again....

Thanks! Yeah, they are SO cute! But I am really hoping that some salmon colored feathers start coming in SOON, or I got LOTS of boys!!!

But they are really curious, and like to peck my fingernails whenever I reach into the brooder!
