Hi!
Answeing the Admin's Q's to help introduce myself I have the following to offer:
1) Our family is new to chickens. We got 6 chicks in late April.
(2) How many chickens do you have? The flock has been involuntairly thinned to 3.
Breif history: 1 chick died from something covering it's vent that was cleaned repeatedly, 1 fell from my 4 year olds hands and broke it's neck. 1 was a rooster and wifey said had to go, but she wouldn't do the honors, so I learned all about the killing cone thanks to BYC. 2 were nabbed by a bobcat which left us with 1 original (which I affectionately now call fighting Ferb; hence the member name (fighting Ferb sounded like cock fighting). We bought two new chickens to keep the 1 company; Punky and Isabella. Ferb was named by my 7 year old; she thought this one followed the others mostly and thought pf Phineas and Ferb and how Ferb aways say "whatchya doin'?". It fits her perfectly.
(3) What breeds do you have? 1 Ameracauna, 2 silky bantam mix
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Chores around our house as long as they don't take up my whole Saturday.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My wife of 11 years is the responsible one of the flock, two girls 7 and 5, a dog and a cat.
