Cluster of bumps on egg

I was wondering if this was normal on a chicken egg, if you could help me with this that would be great.

I had my first experience with this today! My 9 hens just started increasing their egg production after the winter slowdown (up to 6 eggs/day from 2) and I've noticed a few blood smeared eggs as they get going and today I freaked when I saw the clusters of white bumps. I thought they were lice eggs or something else abnormal. I pulled out the microscope and took a very close look then immediately sought this page. I am sighing with relief. I had a nightmare summer battling the mite issue and they all have their nice fluffy bottoms back and didn't want to have to deal with vermin quite yet this season. My hens get crushed baked egg shells for calcium (which they love) but I too wonder if its related to too much scratch as I have been rather generous with the treats. I'll cut back and see if it recurs. This is my first post so I wanted to say thank you to you all for being my goto mentors as I learned to care for my crazy little cluckers last spring.
