I missed #4 hatching too! I'm almost starting to feel sorry for the first few still in there. It must be REAL hard not to open that bater and snatch them outta there!!!

You're in Georgia, how cold can it be? Don't even get me started... we'll be lucky to see 15 on Tuesday and sub-zero wind chills again around here!

I don't see any action on the other eggs and you were right, that front egg probably has a feather on it. Hopefully you'll have more chicks soon!

Congratulations on 4 Fuzzy Butts.....I was surprised to find you opened the incubator and removed them.....
checked out the Brooder Cam too! lol
Very nice chicks.

9:56 am and -9 outside~
coop temp will be 30-40 due to a heat Lamp on a thermo cube.
Hopefully the light timer I installed last night works.

I got 3 new thermometers with Hydrometers yesterday.
Placed 2 in gallon ziplock with small shallow container of Damp Salt readings are 69 & 70 in 8 hours. Guess they are not too accurate.

incubator has been running for 2 + days, without any Thermometers.
so I will add the thermometers today and some water and see what happens. I plan to track the temps & Humidity for a week...on a spreadsheet before I put anything in there.

As I have a Roo, I will be using my own eggs for the first test.

When I got up this morning I went out an moved them. Its warmer today than last night. Think its in the 40s. I dont worry about the humidity droping when I open the incubator, it has a fogger that keeps the humidity where it needs to be.

Sounds like you are on the right track with your incubator. The only advice I have is to not forget its a hobby. If it was to easy then it would be no fun.

I guess I got my temp just about perfect. Those 4 hatched early on day 21. Just hatched another on day 22. That makes it a 50% hatch. Not bad for a new setup. I have another 18 to put in the hatcher friday. We will see how they do.
