I might have to figure it out yeah we have that option and also to bring the eggs inside the incubator is ready incase they jump ship lol. Sprinkles is the young one learning from kiwi. They both have accepted the chicks n sprinkles when kiwi gets up jumps on the eggs to help out…. I’m thinking maybe if kiwi(main broody) gets off she may just take over till hatch in roughly 10 days …. That would just be amazing n ideal. I’ll keep updating tho we will c !Do you have a way to keep 1 hen with the eggs and one hen with the eggs? Chicks will trigger a broody to get off the nest usually in less than 3 days.
Just an observation. I would remove the saddles from both of these girls. Broody hens stop ovulating and roosters don't mate hens that are not ovulating.Hehehehehe I think it’s happening with ours right now ; ) we placed 4 chicks under our main broody last night. She’s been sitting consistently for 10-13 days on 4 other eggs. sprinkles the spring hatch silky jumps on when kiwi gets off to get water n food….. but today she accepted the new chicks I’m hoping one of them hatches the other eggs tho….. since they are such a difference in age. They coop together and are extremely friendly hens
I took them off today ; )Just an observation. I would remove the saddles from both of these girls. Broody hens stop ovulating and roosters don't mate hens that are not ovulating.
It will be better for them to be unencumbered.
Good luck with the hatch and do report back when the chicks arrive!
