Hi. I ordered 16 chicks from Meyer Hatchery and they arrived on 5/23/13. 10 chicks died so I only have 6 left. At oldest the chicks are 8 days old and at youngest they are 7 days old. I've noticed that there are a few little sneezes between these 6 chicks, but it didn't really worry me. I've also noticed that in one or two chicks you can hear a clicking if you hold them up to your ear (like a heartbeat or something). And just now I saw a fresh poop with pinkish-orangish colored stuff in it with that part tinted red. They have been drinking water with the orange electrolytes in it and have been eating non-medicated chick starter. Since I noticed this poop I just gave them medicated chick starter. The chicks act ABSOLUTELY fine (eating like hogs, drinking normally, scratching their food around, trying to fly, jumping on each other, etc). Do you think it's cocci? Should I put Sulmet in their water?
ETA: the poop isn't runny. It's firm like it should be.
