Coccidia treatment needed??

My vet just diagnosed my 4 month old puppies diarrhea as being caused by coccidia. And since I have a dozen chickens I am just guessing it came from them. So do I need to treat my chickens also?? What are the symptoms and treatment for that??? They appear to be happy and healthy to me. Not sure what to do now.

Cocci is always in the dirt around chickens, but chickens build up a tolerance to it. If they seem fine and healthy, you don't need to treat them.

It did not come from your chickens. Coccidia are species specific. The sorts that bother chickens do not bother dogs.
