coccidia

My dog was diagnosed with coccidia and my ducks have stinky diarrhea. I am sure they are connected. How do you treat ducks for coccidia and when will the eggs be fit to eat after treatment?

Personally, i would get a fecal on one of your ducks before treating with anything. Most vets will allow you to drop off a sample for testing without making an appointment - well, i know mine does. The two medicines i have read to treat cocci are Corid and Sulmet. i have read that Corid is easier on their systems. But you really want to know for sure what they have, if they have anything, before putting them through a round of harsh antibiotics.

I seem to recall amprolium being used for coccidia. Could you bring a fecal sample to a vet to confirm and get dosage information?
