About three days ago on Thursday, I bought two Ameraucana chicks. They were lethargic when I came home, and I diagnosed them both with Cocci. They didn't move, wouldn't drink or eat, and there was bloody poop in the brooder.
The strange part is what happened the next day. Previously the chicks wouldn't move at all, but when I found them in the morning (honestly expecting one or two to be dead.) they were eating, drinking, and walking around like any other healthy chick. I started treating them with Corid, but they were acting much better even before the medication started. Another day later, they're very happy and healthy-looking.
They can't just be cured overnight like that, could they? Should I continue the Corid? And after I finish the 5-day treatment, what is the withdrawal period and should I give them more medication after a period of time?
I have absolutely no idea what to do.
