What should I give my flock for coccidiosis? Is their something at the feed store that I can buy and is it safe to eat their eggs while giving it to them. If you had any success from a certain brand please let me know.

The reason I would like to know is because I took my chicken to the vet today and she was diagnosed with coccidiosis. So the whole flock probably has it. I was going to ask the feed store but they always say they don't know anything. I going tomorrow to pick something up so if you could reply tonight that would be greatly appreciated.

amprol or sulmet works. However, if you are alergic to sulfa drugs, or anyone who is eating eggs is alergic to sulfa drugs, don't eat the eggs for a few weeks.

Most birds will have some level of cocci in them as they are usually resistant by the time they are adults.

Thanks, I'll go see if they have that at the feed store tomorrow.
