I've had chickens for years and I've never had problems with coccidosis... I do start my chicks out on a medicated feed. They have plenty of room to roam. This spring I purchased a few pullets from another farm. I now have a real problem.
I have treated with Corid several times. Twice using the water method and now I'm doing the actual oral drench (currently in the middle of the second round of doses). I am waiting a couple weeks between and am dosing for 5 days. I STILL have pullets with bits of light pink, mucus poop. I'm at my whits end.
I have purchased a bottle of "safe-guard"(fenbendazole) oral de-wormer. I am planning on using that next.
Has anyone had this problem? Does ridding of coccidosis really take this long or could it be something else?
I have had this problem since purchasing the pullets. Maybe 8 weeks.
