Here is my first cochin baby. I had to remove him/her because he was rolling the other eggs across the whole bator and then he decided to try out the thermometer probe and wire.

So do you guys think splash?

It has a ring/eyeliner around one eye but not the other.

PBJ...I think you're probably right. I did have a cochin baby that was born looking silvery and she turned into a splash, but very, very light. Your lil' darling is probably going to have more color!

He is actually just crusty - no longer wet

It could very well be a blue. Here is a picture of my 2 cochins when they were a day old, one is light blue and the other dark blue...

If he remains real crusty, you may have to hold his body under some running warm water and get that sticky albumen off of him. I waited until about 12 hours after they had hatched to do it. Then I held a blowdryer on low about 18 inches away to quickly dry him off.

Cool a chick spa! I go check on him occasionally and kind of fluff him a little with my finger. He says he's lonely and wants a moose friend

I hear another peeping in the bator - but no visable pips. I think they are gonna drag this out
