I just bought 5 gl cochin bantam chicks about a week ago and the guy who sold them told me they were "sq." I figured I would attempt to have ds show (if he wants) & breed them. This of course would mean keeping a roo. I had a standard White Rock Roo that I gave away. He crowed non-stop and was not too nice to my hens (to put it lightly).

What is your experience with Cochin Bantam Roos? Are they true roos or just bullies? TIA

I have 5 roos and 3 hens in one pen and they do just fine. You will have to take broody hens out because they will pick on them then a little on the head trying to breed since there is so many roos. Otherwise they all get along just fine. They don't crow a whole lot either just in the morning usually.

i have 2 and they are very sweet little guys (are in seperate pens with own hens) the only time i have seen agression from them was when one was protecting his woman who had a chick, which was minimal (he was standing up to me letting me know he was protecting her, pecked my shoe on a few occasions, fluffed up and stalked me around the pen) that was as far as it went, so in my experiance pretty laid back little dudes
