Cochin Chick with Tumors?

Well, now the lumps are no longer filled with fluid, but are more just crusty skin that feels hard to the touch. A piece of the black skin came off yesterday and there is just a space between the crusty skin and new skin growing underneath. I put antibiotics on it, even though it's not an open wound. I'm really thinking maybe he was bitten by a bug and had a weird reaction or something. I will post a pic later. I wonder if his feathers will grow back....

I wonder if maybe he didn't get a touch of fowl pox. Are mosquitoes around in large numbers in Wisconsin this time of year?

They are this year! Not too bad yet at out house, but you never know.

The crusty skin has just fallen off and he's totally fine now, here's some pics:

I'll bet he had fowl pox. Well, glad to hear he is better. He is too cute to be defaced with pox.
