This might be meaningless- but I noticed that some of my chicks have a more "block" shaped head, and some have round heads. The ones with the bigger blocky heads also seem to have down longer/thicker down.
blue- blocky heads, more downy
black & splash- smaller round heads. less downy
Is this a color thing? Will this make a difference in the future?These little guys are from a hatchery. The ones from a breeder all have round heads (black & partridge), but I never got to see their down as they were older when I got them.
I have to say- the blocky headed ones are "cuter".
