One of my black cochin hens looked ill last night and today i left them out a while and in doing so i picked her up and on her belly there is a very large red swollen area. i dont see a wound. she drank and ate a little today, it almost has the appearance of some of the photos i have seen of some of the chickens that have the large swollen looking growth that is near the vent area, but this is up the one side of the stomach area. She doesnt want to walk as it drags when she does, She kind of lays to one side. Has anyone had anything like this with their chickens? She is about 5 or 6 years old and is a standard cochin. It has been very hot here in pa, like a lot of places lately and i dont know if there would be something that the heat would aggravate or not. she is breathing a little heavy, but it is hot and humid here. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Poor girl doesnt look too good. I just dont know what to do for her. looking forward to a reply. thank you. donna
