To The Jade Chicken...I'm curious now about what you said. You think the 3rd pic is iffy...I noticed that the tail feathers on the 3rd pic look like our girl Cochin, but it has the bright pink comb/wattle. Is it actually possible it might be a she??? Peeka52. I would love to keep any of them, but I have one neighbor that I believe would complain...we already started off on the wrong foot. I don't want any noise complaints because if I get some I could get in trouble. There are no laws in my town regarding chickens, but who knows what would happen if someone got cranky.

Yes, cochin hens get red combs wattles. ALL hens do, at sexual matuity. These bird are so young, the redness indicated rooster. Hens won't get that red until they're four-ish months.

Could be. I would give that one some more time. Everyone grows differently. I have a black cochin with a comb and wattle, who matured before my Japanese Hen. They are the same age. I thought she was a roo at first.
