Cochin Roosters

I have two Cochin roosters, and they are the nicest roosters I have ever had. They are significantly smaller than other standard-sized roosters I've seen, but much bigger than my bantam Cochins. They are protective of the hens, but also very sweet and calm and only crow a couple of times a day. Is that disposition normal for Cochins? Also, are standard size Cochins still usually on the small side? I bought them in a batch of seven chicks at a chicken swap, and I'm wondering if maybe they have some other breed mixed in there as well. I was told they were all Cochins, but two of them turned out to be bantams, and one looks likes some kind of mixed-breed silkie. Wishing I had some pics to post right now...
